The clouds that build up on the prairies east of the Rockies can sometimes look pretty strange. In the summer, the weather can change quickly, with huge thunderclouds and hail storms building up and moving across the landscape in all different directions.
I’ve always been fascinated by these skies. They can be dramatic, unpredictable and full of movement, but that’s also what makes them a real challenge to paint. With Strange Brew, I wanted to capture that feeling of watching a storm build and knowing that the landscape is about to change.
